This is how East Central 911 Helps

If you live in the East Central Area of Alberta,
within the counties of Two Hills, Minburn, Vermilion River, Paintearth or the MD’s of Wainwright or Provost, then your call will be received by the staff at East Central 911 Call Answer Society.

How do we know where you are?  In most cases your address, or your GPS position and your telephone user registration information accompanies your call so that 9-1-1 Call Answer staff can determine your location.  Questions are asked to verify this information and to ensure that your call is then sent to the appropriate RCMP or Ambulance Dispatch agency.  At times these Police and Ambulance services can be very busy, so as difficult as it seems callers must on occasion be as patient as possible.  DO NOT HANG-UP, the RCMP or  Ambulance personnel will have a number of questions for you.

East Central 911 will be monitoring until we are confident that there is no additional need for Fire or Rescue services.

Should you need Fire or Rescue services your emergency will be addressed by the Dispatch staff at East Central 911.  The Dispatchers will ask several questions in order to mobilize the nearest Fire Department and to ensure that adequate resources are available. Fire departments will be dispatched within moments of your call.

T
he Dispatchers will continue
asking questions after the Fire Departments are dispatched to assist the Department on arrival and to ensure that if other services are required that they can be mobilized as well.  These questions may seem difficult under the circumstances but they are very necessary to safeguard everyone involved in the event.
